The Federation Council Responded to France's Call Not to Recognize Vaccines Against COVID-19 from Russia
OREANDA-NEWS. Member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs Sergei Tsekov commented on the statement of the Secretary of State at the French Foreign Ministry, Clement Bona, who called on the EU countries not to recognize the coronavirus vaccines developed in Russia and China. The senator in an interview with "Lente.ru" said that such a step is unfair competition with anti-human content.
Sergei Tsekov said on this occasion: “This is a desire to again infringe on and restrict Russia and China in some way. The announced decision is not dictated by true concern for the health of its own population. It is dictated by the desire to prevent vaccines from entering the European Union, which have proven themselves well both in the countries that produced them and in the countries that used them. This is an element of very unfair competition, and with such, let's say, anti-human content. That is, for them, the first place is not the health of the population, but again some kind of political anti-Russian and anti-Chinese projects. "
On May 20, it became known that Europe approved the entry to its territory for vaccinated tourists. These are drugs approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Russian vaccines are not included in this list. In this regard, the Russians were advised to wait or go to those countries that are waiting for tourists from Russia.
It is recalled that at the moment four vaccines have been officially approved in the EU countries. These are drugs manufactured by Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer / BioNTech, AstraZeneca and Moderna.
