OREANDA-NEWS The Russian defense industry has significantly increased the production of weapons and ammunition, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said, summing up the supply of weapons and military equipment, as well as the construction of infrastructure facilities in 2023.

"It has been possible to increase the production of the main demanded weapons and ammunition at times. In particular, this was facilitated by the expansion and modernization of production facilities, as well as an increase in labor productivity," the army general said.

He explained that such a result was achieved thanks to the effective work of the Ministry of Defense and defense industry organizations.

Many enterprises have commissioned new workshops, lines, and sites equipped with high-tech equipment.
