OREANDA-NEWS. The death toll as a result of an emergency at an oxygen station in a hospital in Vladikavkaz has risen to 11, Acting Minister of Health of North Ossetia Soslan Tebiev said.
On Monday, regional authorities reported that a breakdown had occurred at an oxygen station in an emergency hospital in Vladikavkaz. As a result of the emergency, nine patients died. The UK opened a criminal case on the performance of work or the provision of services that did not meet safety requirements, which inadvertently resulted in the death of two or more persons.
On the evening of August 9, the media reported that eight women and one man died in the hospital as a result of a pipe break at an oxygen station in Vladikavkaz, their age is from 47 to 85 years old, the regional health ministry said. "Among the deceased there are eight women and a man. Age from 47 to 85 years. All patients were in the intensive care unit in a state of extreme severity," the department said.
As the press service of the Ministry of Health of Russia reported, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation sent a group of anesthesiologists-resuscitators to Vladikavkaz in connection with an incident in the hospital.
Three tons of oxygen from Kabardino-Balkaria were brought to the emergency hospital in Vladikavkaz, where eleven patients had died earlier due to an emergency. This was reported by the press service of the administration of North Ossetia.
Another ton was sent from the airfield of the 4th Army of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Southern Military District, which is located in Mozdok. The republic also expects supplies from the Stavropol Territory and Krasnodar.
Uninterrupted oxygen supply for all patients has been established in the Vladikavkaz emergency hospital, where eleven patients died the day before due to an emergency, the Ministry of Health of North Ossetia said.
