"At the invitation of the President of Mongolia, Ukhnagiin Khurelsukh, on September 3, Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to Mongolia to participate in celebrations dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the joint victory of the Soviet and Mongolian armed forces over Japanese militarists on the Khalkhin Gol River," the message says.

It is specified that the Russian leader and Mongolian President Tsakhiagiin Khurelsukh will discuss the prospects for the development of Russian-Mongolian relations of a comprehensive strategic partnership. In addition, it is planned to sign bilateral documents during the negotiations.

Earlier, Putin met with the President of Mongolia on the sidelines of the SCO summit in Astana. During the talks, the head of Russia invited his Mongolian counterpart to consider expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of energy.
