OREANDA-NEWS  The Romanian Consulate General in Rostov-on-Don will cease its work from October 14, this is Moscow's response to the unfriendly actions of Bucharest, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

"An official notification has been received from the Romanian side, according to which the Consulate General of Romania in Rostov-on-Don will cease its activities on October 14. The functions of providing consular services in the relevant district have been transferred to the Embassy of this country in Moscow. This step is due to the decision of the Russian side: to denounce the bilateral intergovernmental agreement on the opening of the mentioned consular institution. This decision was made in December 2023 as a response to the unfriendly actions of the Romanian authorities," she said during a briefing.
