OREANDA-NEWS  The Chinese army is working on the possibility of precision strikes against key targets off the coast of Taiwan. This was stated by the press service of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA), the Reuters news agency reports.

"The Eastern zone of the PLA Combat Command (...) It checks the capabilities to deliver precision strikes against key targets," the statement of the country's armed forces says.

Earlier it became known that the PLA began large-scale military exercises around Taiwan, which it called a "warning" for the island. As Bloomberg notes, the Chinese authorities have publicly acknowledged for the first time that the exercises include practicing the "blockade of key ports and areas" of Taiwan. The exercises also attract special attention by the fact that the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning is involved in them.
