OREANDA-NEWS  The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation is ready to accept representatives of Venezuela as international observers at the presidential elections of Russia in March 2024. This was stated on Tuesday by CEC member Pavel Andreev at a meeting with Venezuelan Ambassador to Russia Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez.

"During the meeting, Andreev recalled the cooperation agreement in force between the CEC of Russia and the National Electoral Council of Venezuela and confirmed the readiness of the Central Election Commission to accept representatives of Venezuela as international observers at the presidential elections of the Russian Federation in March 2024," the message published on the CEC portal reads.

Andreev noted that in the current geopolitical conditions, "upholding the principles of electoral sovereignty" is "a big joint task of the international electoral community."

During the meeting, the Ambassador of Venezuela spoke about the state and prospects for the development of the electoral system of this country.
