OREANDA-NEWS. The capital of the unrecognized Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh, the city of Stepanakert, was attacked. According to RBC news agency, at least two shells exploded, there are wounded people, they are being evacuated in ambulance cars.

The Ministry of Defense of Armenia blamed the Azerbaijani army for the artillery strike. Representative of the agency, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, said that there are numerous damages to civil infrastructure and many wounded in Stepanakert.

On the morning of October 2, the Armenian Defense Ministry reported that in the battles on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh since the beginning of the conflict, the military shot down 10 helicopters and 5 airplanes, the Azerbaijani side has already lost 205 tanks, 107 drones and 1 artillery mount. The losses of the enemy were estimated at 1,750 dead.

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported on October 2 about the shelling of their settlements by Armenia and killed and wounded civilians. At the same time, Baku claimed that the information about the planes and helicopters shot down on October 1 is misinformation.
