OREANDA-NEWS  The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation has approved a list of agricultural seeds, the import of which from unfriendly countries may be restricted from October 1 to December 31, 2023, the corresponding resolution is published on the official portal of legal information.

"To approve the attached list of certain types of goods in respect of which, from October 1 to December 31, 2023 inclusive, quantitative restrictions on imports from foreign states and territories that commit unfriendly actions against the Russian Federation, Russian legal entities and individuals, " the text of the resolution says.

The list includes seed potatoes, wheat and seed meslin, seed rye, seed barley, seed corn, seed soybeans, rapeseed seeds, sunflower seeds and sugar beet seeds.

The Ministry of Agriculture has been instructed, if necessary, to submit proposals to the government on the volume of quotas for the import of these categories of seeds and on the rules for their distribution.
