The British Defense Ministry accidentally sent classified data to an ally of Russia

OREANDA-NEWS The British Ministry of Defense launched an investigation after it turned out that due to a typo, officials accidentally sent emails containing classified information to a close Russian ally, Mali. This is reported by The Telegraph.
The error occurred due to the fact that officials missed the letter "i" in the email address: they are messages at the address ending with the domain ".ml", not ".mil". The first belongs to Mali, the second to the USA.
Mali is not only a close partner of Russia, but also one of the six African countries to which Russian President Vladimir Putin promised free grain supplies after withdrawing from the grain deal with Ukraine, the UN and Turkey.
The publication recalls that last week it became known about a similar problem: as a result of a similar mistake in the United States, millions of military emails got into Mali. However, the scale of the miscalculation in the British Ministry of Defense "does not go to any comparison," writes The Telegraph.
