OREANDA-NEWS  Trade and economic cooperation between Russia and China is showing positive dynamics despite Western sanctions, Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov said.

"Despite Western sanctions, bilateral trade and economic cooperation demonstrates strong positive dynamics," Morgulov said, speaking at a reception at the embassy on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China.

The Ambassador noted that "China has remained Russia's leading foreign trade partner for many years, and our country confidently occupies the fifth place in the trade balance of the People's Republic of China, currently ahead of all other states in terms of the growth rate of trade turnover with it."

I am confident that this year the volume of mutual trade will again exceed $ 200 billion.
At the same time, I would like to emphasize that 95% of mutual settlements are already carried out in rubles and yuan," the ambassador said.
