Terrorist Who Staged an Explosion in Moscow Metro Received a Life Sentence
OREANDA-NEWS The sentence of life imprisonment was handed down by the Second Western District Military Court of Moscow to Magomed Nurov, accused of involvement in the explosions at the "Lubyanka" and "Park Kultury" metro stations in Moscow. This was reported by "Interfax".
The court found Nurov guilty of participating in a criminal community, committing terrorist acts and making explosive devices. The accused was sentenced to life imprisonment in a special regime colony.
The explosions in the Moscow metro occurred on March 29, 2010. The first detonated explosive device at the "Lubyanka" station. The second explosion occurred an hour later in a train car that arrived at the "Park Kultury" station.
36 people were killed at the scene of the terrorist attacks, and a few days later four more victims died in hospitals. More than 100 people were injured.
According to the case file, Nurov joined the criminal group "Caucasus Emirate"*, which is banned in Russia. He was a direct organizer in the preparation of crimes. During the terrorist attack, the accused acted as a liaison and driver for other participants in the crime. To do this, he used a personal car, in which he drove other defendants in the case during the preparation of explosions. He was also involved in hiding a terrorist suspect.
Magomed Nurov was detained in 2019 on the territory of Dagestan. His trial began last fall.
