OREANDA-NEWS. Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon. This was reported on Wednesday in the Kremlin press service.

"The situation around the spread of coronavirus infection was discussed," the statement said. "Emomali Rahmon expressed appreciation for the humanitarian assistance provided by the Russian side". In a conversation between the two leaders, other relevant issues of Russian-Tajik cooperation in trade, economic and other fields were also touched upon. The conversation was initiated by the Tajik side.

According to official data from the Ministry of Health of Tajikistan, not a single fact of coronavirus infection has been detected in the country. From February 1 to April 13 of this year, 7,560 citizens who entered Tajikistan from abroad were quarantined in medical institutions and sanatoriums of the country. As of April 13, 5,724 people were released from quarantine. Among those remaining in quarantine are five foreigners.
