OREANDA-NEWS Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto told RIA Novosti on Friday that US sanctions against Gazprombank would create difficulties for a number of European countries, he discussed the issue with Russian Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin.

"This decision may definitely create some difficulties for the countries of Central and Southeastern Europe. Here we discuss together how to overcome them. Today I have already discussed this issue with the First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Pavel Sorokin, we agreed that continued cooperation in the energy sector is in the interests of our countries, we are committed to it," Szijjarto said on the sidelines of the Istanbul Energy Forum.

On Thursday, the US Treasury announced a new package of anti-Russian sanctions, which included 118 individuals and legal entities, including, for example, Guta Bank, Dom Bank.The Russian Federation, Gazprombank and six of its foreign subsidiaries, Iturup Bank, Bank Kremlevsky, Bratsky Halyk Bank, Centrocredit. The Hungarian Foreign Ministry said it was consulting with the gas supplier and looking for ways to resolve the situation in order to continue energy supplies.
