Syrian Army Repulsed Attacks of Militants on Saraqib
OREANDA-NEWS. The Syrian government troops repelled two attempts by pro-Turkish fighters to capture the city of Saraqib in the governorate of Idlib.
This was reported by the portal Al-Masdar News, citing a source in the Syrian Armed Forces. According to journalists’ interlocutor, the National Front for Liberation, supported by Turkey, suffered heavy losses during the assault on the positions of the Syrian army west of the city. The militants were forced to retreat. After that, they started another attack on the western outskirts of Saraqib, which was also repelled by the Syrian military.
At the same time, SANA new agency reports that units of the Syrian government army repulsed attacks by pro-Turkish militants on the village of Tranbah located west of Saraqib and the Shansharah archaeological site in the southeast of Idlib. According to the agency, the attackers suffered significant losses.
