Swine flu was detected in 82 regions of Russia

OREANDA-NEWS Swine flu - strain A(H1N1)-2009 - was detected in 82 regions of Russia, the press service of Rospotrebnadzor told reporters on Tuesday following a conference call in the department.
"The share of influenza viruses [in the total incidence of influenza and SARS] continues to increase and currently stands at 52.5%. Among the strains, A(H1N1)-2009 prevails, the so-called swine flu, already detected in 82 subjects of the Russian Federation. Influenza A(H3N2) and B strains are also recorded," the report says.
According to the press service, the proportion of rhinoviruses (9.7%), MS viruses (9.3%), metapneumoviruses (7.2%), seasonal coronaviruses (5.3%) remains the highest in the structure of respiratory viruses of non-influenza etiology. The incidence of SARS and influenza increased by 35.4% compared to the previous week. In 37 subjects, morbidity rates are higher than the national average, Rospotrebnadzor noted.
"The highest incidence rates of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza are recorded in the Tyumen Region, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Astrakhan Region, Chukotka Autonomous District, Komi Republic, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, the Republic of Buryatia, Kostroma and Vologda Regions," the press service reported.
