Supplies of Russian agricultural products in one direction have soared

OREANDA-NEWS According to the results of the first ten months of 2023, the total volume of supplies of Russian agricultural products to China increased by 63 percent and reached the level of 6.2 billion dollars in monetary terms. This is reported by Prime with reference to reference materials for the working visit of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to China.
Thanks to such dynamics of the products of the Russian agricultural and industrial complex (AIC), it was possible to take the second place in the structure of exports of the Russian Federation to China, second only to the supply of hydrocarbons, the government of the Russian Federation clarified. Such a circumstance indicates the development of bilateral trade relations between Russia and China, the Cabinet concluded.
Earlier, analysts at the General Customs Administration of China reported an increase in trade turnover with Russia in January-October to $ 196.48 billion in monetary terms. At the same time, the Russian Federation still lags far behind China's leading foreign economic partners in this indicator.
The leaders in trade turnover in January-October were the ASEAN countries (747.3 billion dollars), the European Union (655.2 billion dollars) and the United States (550.7 billion dollars). The top 5 also included Latin American (404.6 billion) and African (234.8 billion) states. Thus, Russia's lag behind China's main trading partners is estimated at tens or even hundreds of billions of dollars.
