OREANDA-NEWS Wholesale gasoline prices decreased at auction on the St. Petersburg International Commodity Exchange (SPbMTSB) on Monday, August 5. This is evidenced by the data of the trading platform.

The price of fuel oil decreased by 5.75 percent, to 30,314 rubles per ton, for jet fuel — by 3.51 percent, to 80,923 rubles, liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) — by 0.82 percent, to 37,743 rubles per ton. The cost of summer diesel fuel decreased slightly — by 0.14 percent, to 61,752 rubles per ton.
Earlier it became known that the ban on gasoline exports from Russia was decided to be extended for September-October. According to Pavel Sorokin, First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, the authorities made a "fundamental decision" to limit supplies in order to "hedge their bets." There will be no lifting of the export ban in August to avoid "any problems," the deputy head of the Ministry of Energy added.
He also noted that the situation with fuel production in Russia is stable. Sorokin admitted that in July there was a temporary surge in wholesale prices for gasoline of this brand in the country, but the measures taken by the authorities allowed it to be suppressed.
