OREANDA-NEWS The St. Petersburg developer and manufacturer of robotic kits for the educational sphere "Robbo" has equipped classrooms in two educational institutions in Nigeria. Pavel Frolov, the founder of the company, told about this in his Telegram channel. The equipment of the St. Petersburg developer appeared at the Highlander Open School in Lagos and at the National Institute of Information (NIIT) University in Port Harcourt.
The first Robbo robotics circles based on the franchise model opened in South Africa and Nigeria in 2020, the company develops new projects independently. According to Frolov, separate groups of students, including those from other universities, will study at NIIT using Robbo methods. In Highlander Open School, schoolchildren aged 6 to 14 years and students of some other nearby schools will be engaged in the company's equipment.
"There are already many organizations in Nigeria that are fully aware of the need to introduce robotics," Pavel Frolov said. According to him, Robbo plans to open twenty classes in Nigeria.
The company told Vedomosti that Robbo has invested $20 thousand in launching educational projects in Nigeria. In a conversation with the publication, Pavel Chuzhmarov, executive director of Wone IT, said that many Russian players from the technology sector consider African countries as a potential sales market and will try to enter it. However, according to him, there are not so many countries in Africa that are actively undergoing digitalization. Nigeria is such a country that, according to the expert, entails international competition from IT companies from the United States, China, India and other countries.
In addition to Robbo, the St. Petersburg developer of educational complexes Brain Development exports its products to African countries. This year, test deliveries were sent to Morocco and Oman.
