OREANDA-NEWS  The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024) will be held on June 5-8, this year the main theme of the forum will be "The basis of multipolarity — the formation of new growth centers."

According to the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov, meetings with leaders of other countries are expected on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum of Vladimir Putin.

The main business program of the forum is divided into four thematic blocks, which correspond to the main mission of the forum to maintain the global balance of power and build a multipolar international system, providing conditions for development based on a unifying and constructive agenda dictated by Russia's national interests.

In addition, the forum participants will discuss the Russian economy and the key drivers of its growth. The session "Improving the tax system: fairness, balance, stability" will be one of the main events to be held on June 6. It is expected to be attended by Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, Head of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) Daniil Egorov, head of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes Andrei Makarov, representatives of business associations and experts.
In addition to the main business program, the following events will traditionally take place on the sidelines of the forum: youth Economic Forum, SME Forum, Creative Business Forum, SPIEF program. Junior", business breakfast of "Sber" and pharmaceutical companies. At the same time, Urban Hub will discuss urban development concepts and new technologies, and a thematic space "Healthy Society" will work on the forum site.
