Snipers neutralized four prisoners who took hostages in IK-19

OREANDA-NEWS Rosgvardiya reported on the neutralization of four prisoners who took hostages in Volgograd colony No. 19.
"Snipers of the special forces of the Russian Guard in the Volgograd region neutralized four prisoners who took the colony employees hostage with four accurate shots. The hostages have been released," the ministry told Interfax.
Earlier on Friday, the Federal Penitentiary Service reported that prisoners of correctional colony No. 19 in the Volgograd region took hostages during a meeting of the disciplinary commission. "Measures are being taken to free the hostages," the service said. They added that as a result of the actions of the prisoners, there are victims.
The governor of the Volgograd region, Andrei Bocharov, announced the hospitalization of four FSIN employees after the attack in the colony. An operational headquarters has been set up in the region to coordinate the work on the release of hostages, there is no threat to the civilian population. In the central district hospital of the Surovikinsky district, Interfax was informed that three people were sent to the intensive care unit after the hostage-taking.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case was opened in the UK under part 4 of Article 206 of the Criminal Code (hostage-taking) and part 3 of Article 321 of the Criminal Code (disorganization of the colony). The FSIN initiated its own verification of what happened. The Prosecutor's office of the Volgograd region is going to find out how the required security measures and regime were observed in IK-19.
