Slovakia Introduced a State of Emergency due to the Increase in the Number of Patients with COVID-19
OREANDA-NEWS. The government of the Slovak Republic has approved the introduction of a state of emergency in the country from October 1 for a period of 45 days due to the coronavirus pandemic.
For the duration of the state of emergency, all public events will be banned. Exceptions will be wedding ceremonies, baptisms, funerals and meetings of government officials. At the same time, celebrations after the wedding will be prohibited, and the number of guests at the ceremonies may be limited.
Catering points will work from 6:00 to 22:00, except for delivery services and the sale of takeaway food. In stores, it will be mandatory to maintain a two-meter distance between customers, and their number will be limited.
Slovak Prime Minister Igor Matovic said that the police will more actively monitor compliance with security measures, including the wearing of masks.
As of September 30, in total, 10,141 patients with COVID-19 were identified in Slovakia; 48 people died.
