OREANDA-NEWS Military expert Konstantin Sivkov drew attention to the fact that Russia practically did not react to Western sanctions. It is reported by SM News.
“The West has introduced against us everything that it could introduce in violation of all treaties. And we haven't added anything yet. Even the demand for payment in rubles turned out to be purely conditional. They pay in dollars. Only this money does not go to an account in a Swiss bank, but immediately to Gazprom. The same dollars and euros. This does little, ”the expert noted.
Sivkov added that such measures are of no benefit to the Russian economy.
“It would be more useful for us if they paid in rubles. And they would receive rubles due to the fact that they sold us, for example, plants, factories, robotic production lines, microcircuits that we need so much for rubles. We didn't even do that. The most paradoxical thing is that the West is at war with us, but we have not yet started a war with them, ”he explained his position.
The Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Nikolay Shulginov said that the Russian energy industry is bearing the blow of Western sanctions, and also continues to function successfully and is working on redirecting energy flows. He said this on Friday in Tashkent, where the second meeting of energy ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries opened on Friday.
