OREANDA-NEWS. The number of corruption crimes in Russia in the first three months of this year, compared to the same period in 2020, increased by 18.7% from 10 thousand to 11.9 thousand. This is stated in the report published by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation, which on Wednesday, April 28, drew the attention of the publication «MBH media».

About half of these acts are facts of bribery, it's number for the first time in the last five years exceeded the mark of 5 thousand, it is indicated further. The size of every third bribe does not exceed $133 (10 thousand rubles).

At the same time, almost a quarter of corruption–related crimes (24.6%) during this period were recorded in the Central Federal District, and another 23% — in the Volga Federal District. In the Southern Federal District, 14.3% of the total number of these crimes in the entire Russian Federation were registered, in the Siberian Federal District — 10.5%, in the other four federal districts, this figure is less than 10%.
