OREANDA-NEWS Russian employers have officially hired 2.5 million foreigners this year, which is almost 40% more than in 2023, said Irina Volk, an official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
"The number of notifications received by the internal affairs bodies from employers on the conclusion of employment contracts with foreign workers has increased by almost 40% and reached 2.5 million," Wolf wrote in her telegram channel on Friday.
Meanwhile, the number of documents issued to foreign citizens for the right to work in the Russian Federation has increased to 2 million.
At the same time, tax revenues to the budgets of the regions of Russia from the income of foreign citizens engaged in work under a patent increased by 15% and exceeded 100 billion rubles.
"Thus, the measures taken by state authorities aimed at strengthening control in the migration sphere did not affect foreign citizens legally engaged in labor activity," the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed.
Wolf recalled that the ministry, together with interested authorities, continues to work on preparations for the launch of the register of controlled persons from February 5, 2025, which will "further strengthen control over migration flows and minimize illegal migration."
