OREANDA-NEWS. Russian border guards stopped an illegal border crossing attempt conducted by three armed violators from Ukraine. This was reported by TASS news agency, citing the Public Relations Center of the Federal Security Service of Russia (FSB). One of the offenders was killed during the shootout, two fled.

“On December 4, at the site of the Border Directorate of the FSB of Russia for the Belgorod and Voronezh regions, a frontier detachment suppressed an attempt to violate the border from Ukraine to the Russian Federation by three armed unknown assailants. The violators put up armed resistance during the arrest attempt,” the Public Relations Center informed. As a result of return fire, one of them was injured incompatible with life, two fled to the territory of Ukraine.

Investigative actions are being carried out. The FSB has not provided other details of the incident.
