OREANDA-NEWS  The Russian army in 2018 reached an unprecedented level of equipment with modern weapons, which no army in the world, said Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

The Russian armed forces are 61% equipped with new weapons. Only the military handed over 1500 samples and about 80 thousand military vehicles. Thus, the domestic army has become the most modern in the world, said Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu.

In 2019, the number of new weapons in the army will reach 67%, and a year later – 70%, said the commander.

According to this information, "the task, which was initially set in the preparation and implementation of the state armament program for 2010-2020, is carried out according to the plan."

The Minister also noted that the Agency is transferring all ammunition storage arsenals "to the most modern complexes" and will complete this work in 2019.

Earlier in December, Vladimir Putin told about the equipment of the military. In particular, he mentioned about the new Russian weapons, which significantly increases the combat capability of the Russian army. It can ensure Russia's security and maintain stability in the world for years to come

The President also said that in recent months has done extensive work: started mass production of a hypersonic complexes, Avangard, conducted a successful test of an Intercontinental missile "Sarmat" to intercede on combat duty system "Dagger" and "Peresvet".

Vladimir Putin also mentioned the equipment of strategic Missile forces. There, the share of modern weapons and equipment reached 82%.

In March, the Head of State announced the appearance of a number of new combat systems in service of Russian troops. In particular, the President presented the global-range cruise missile Burevestnik. According to him, the existing missile DEFENSE and air defense systems will not be able to track the trajectory of its flight.
