OREANDA-NEWS Sales of Chinese Kaiyi cars in Russia have increased almost fivefold. As reported by Autonews.ru with reference to the data of Autostat, in April 2023, the Russians registered 145 Kaiyi E5 sedans — at the moment this is the only model of the brand that is available for purchase in our market. it is collected at the Kaliningrad "Avtotor". If we compare with the number of registered E5s in the first quarter of this year, sales of the model increased almost fivefold.

Kaiyi E5 for the Russian market is equipped with a 1.5 turbo engine with a capacity of 147 forces in conjunction with a variator, and its main competitor is Lada Vesta NG. Prices for the model start from 1,959,000 rubles, and so far it is available in a single configuration. By the end of spring, two more Kaiyi models should go on sale, which, like the E5, are produced at Avtotor — these are X3 and X3 Pro crossovers built on the basis of Chery Tiggo 4. And by the end of this year, the X7 Kunlun — an all-terrain vehicle of the D-SUV class will be on the conveyor. In addition to Kaiyi, another Chinese brand, BAIC, also acts as a production partner of the Kaliningrad automobile plant. The current BAIC line consists of the U5 Plus sedan and the X35 crossover, which will be joined this year by the X55, X7 and BJ40 Plus — their launches are scheduled for the third quarter.
