OREANDA-NEWS Residents of Sakhalin handed over another batch of necessary cargo for island fighters to the zone of their own defense, the regional government told RIA Novosti.
"The Sakhalin Region continues to contribute to the approach of the Russian victory in a special military operation within the framework of the "Ownership" project. Residents of the island region sent another 20 tons of aid to the frontline zone of Donbass. The next batch of parcels contains long–term storage products, warm clothes for the season, ammunition and equipment necessary for soldiers in the fall," the government's press service said.
According to the interlocutor, the island fishing enterprises "Yantarnoye", "Gidrostroy", "Northern Salmon" took part in the gathering again, which handed over several tons of canned pink salmon for the participants of the special operation. The next batch of assistance also included a set of wheels for the KAMAZ car, on the basis of which artillery pieces are assembled in the SVO zone. Representatives of the older generation of the region wove special camouflage nets of autumn brown coloring for the warring countrymen. They are used by soldiers on the front line to hide military equipment so that the enemy does not notice it.
According to the worked-out scheme, 20 tons of cargo from the Sakhalin region will be delivered to the distribution center in the DPR, where it will be sorted and delivered to the addressees. The soldiers are looking forward to each parcel, because in addition to the things necessary in a soldier's life, they also receive letters from relatives and friends.
The project "Ownership" in the Sakhalin region has been operating since 2022 on the initiative of Governor Valery Limarenko. Over the entire time, residents of the island region have sent more than 300 tons of cargo to the DPR.
