OREANDA-NEWS Russian universities are moving to a new level of higher education. This statement was made by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, Alexander Mazhuga, in an interview with Russia Today, who also predicted upcoming changes in legislation in this area.

"Indeed, on behalf of the president, our universities are moving to a new level of higher education," the parliamentarian said.

The deputy added that Russian legislation will be amended to equate diplomas obtained under the old system with the new one.

Earlier it became known that Russian higher education institutions will switch to a new system of higher education from September 1, 2026. By this time, the relevant ministry plans to prepare and approve the relevant regulatory legal acts.
