Russians named the most prestigious professions

OREANDA-NEWS Russians called the work of a scientist and an IT specialist the most prestigious. This is with reference to a joint study of the company "Rockvool" and the service hh.ru writes RBC.
51 percent of respondents consider IT professions prestigious, 38 percent consider a researcher or scientist, and 37 percent consider an engineer. The top 5 prestigious specialties also included doctors and nurses (30 percent) and creative professions (14 percent).
Only 6 percent of respondents mentioned the prestige of office professions, and 12 percent named working professions. Among them, Russians most often noted the work of service engineers (29 percent), CNC machine operators (22 percent), surveyors (21 percent) and foremen (15 percent).
Almost half of the country's citizens (43 percent) agreed that the attitude towards working professions has changed for the better in Russia over the past decade. Russians cited the inability to do without such workers (58 percent), rising salaries (44 percent) and high demand in the labor market (41 percent) as the reasons for the growth in the prestige of such professions.
According to 24 percent of respondents, the prestige of working professions has decreased. They said this was due to low pay (77 percent), hard and dirty work (54 percent) and lack of career prospects (48 percent).
The research was conducted on the website hh.ru in June 2024. More than 1.6 thousand candidates from all over Russia took part in the survey of the service.
Previously, the study of the service "Work.<url>" showed that Russians consider accountants to be the most "harmful" colleagues — 15 percent of respondents indicated representatives of this profession. It is difficult for 6 percent of respondents to communicate with the security service. According to 5 percent of Russians, communication with lawyers, sales managers, HR specialists and IT specialists was problematic.
