OREANDA-NEWS  In 2022, more than 5.4 million foreign passports were issued to Russians. This is almost 40% more than in 2021. This was reported by TASS, RIA Novosti and Interfax with reference to the statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in just a year Russians issued 5,413,374 foreign passports. In 2021, 3,892,586 foreign passports were issued.

The peak of issuance occurred in March, when 553 thousand foreign passports were issued. In April, 470 thousand foreign passports were issued, in May — 359 thousand. In the summer, the number of issued documents began to grow again, by July, the number of issued passports had grown to 504 thousand. In autumn, the pace of issuance began to decline again — 423 thousand documents were issued in September. In December, the issuance grew to the March figures — in just a month, more than 560 thousand foreign passports were issued.

According to the FSB, from July to September 2022, the number of trips abroad increased to 9.7 million times. This is 1.2 million more than the same period in 2021.
