OREANDA-NEWS In Kaliningrad, investigators have opened a criminal case against an individual entrepreneur, a local resident and her husband, who has citizenship of Russia and Uzbekistan, for the illegal legalization of 500 migrants.

The case was opened under Article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Organization of illegal migration"). A preventive measure was chosen for the woman in the form of a ban on certain actions, and for her husband in the form of detention. The businessman is on his own recognizance not to leave and behave properly.

According to investigators, since January 2023, the defendants have organized the illegal conclusion of fictitious labor and civil law contracts between at least 500 foreigners and an individual entrepreneur. As a result, on the basis of these fictitious documents, migrants were able to legally stay in Russia.

Earlier, in the Leningrad region, the police detained a married couple who fictitiously registered more than four thousand migrants.
