Russians began to travel to Europe more often

OREANDA-NEWS Russians began to travel to Europe more actively, in 2024, compatriots booked flights there eight percent more often than in 2023. Vedomosti writes about this with reference to a message from the OneTwoTrip press service.
Elena Shelekhova, a representative of the service, also noted that the share of these destinations in the total number of foreign orders increased by one percentage point to 13 percent.
Meanwhile, MTS Travel experts have confirmed the growing interest of Russian tourists in traveling to European countries. The company's analysts found that the number of trips by Russians to Europe from January 1 to December 20, 2024 increased by seven percent compared to the same period in 2023.
Earlier it became known that the Latvian authorities will oblige citizens of the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), including Russians, to provide information about the purpose of the visit before entering. It was clarified that the relevant bill was prepared and submitted to the Presidium by the Parliamentary Commission on National Security of the Latvian Seimas.
