OREANDA-NEWS. American television channel CNN, referring to a statement of the United States Navy, reported that Russian warship made dangerous maneuvers near the US destroyer in the northern part of the Arabian Sea.

“On Thursday, Jan. 9, while conducting routine operations in the North Arabian Sea USS Farragut was aggressive approached by a Russian Navy ship,” the channel quotes the statement of American Navy’s Fifth Fleet. “The incident is the latest example of a close encounter between US and Russian forces that US officials have described as unsafe and provocative,” CNN wrote.

According to the TV channel, the destroyer Farragut accompanied the American nuclear aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman.
