Russian warehouses complained about rising prices
Source: OREANDA-NEWS
OREANDA-NEWS From January to October, the cost of equipment for warehouses in Russia increased by 25 percent, and spare parts for machinery rose in price by 16 percent with an overall inflation of about 8 percent. Kommersant (Kommersant) writes about this with reference to research by logistics companies PECK and Molcom and specializing in special equipment ISTK, Jungheinrich Rus and the Center for Technical Equipment (CTO).
The reasons for the rise in prices, the authors of the review call the fall in the ruble exchange rate and an increase in leasing rates, which are in the range of 13.2-45.3 percent. Harold Vlasov, managing director of the 3PL operator NC Logistic, complained that the rack frame - the basic warehouse equipment — increased in price by 40 percent, and high—rise staplers from the European Union — by one and a half times, to 127 thousand euros. He called the rise in prices for uninterruptible power supplies especially critical.
Before the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine in February 2022 mostly warehouse equipment in Russia was imported from Europe, most often from Sweden and Germany. Japanese suppliers were also present on the market. But now only Chinese companies offer official service, although details may be delayed for eight months.
At the same time, according to Vlasov, Chinese staffers are worse than European ones. Evgeny Numerov, Managing Director of Skladman USG, in turn, noted that the battery charge of Chinese loaders is designed for fewer operations.
