Russian Su-30 Crashed in the Tver Region Could Have Been Accidentally Shot down by Another Plane during an Exercise
OREANDA-NEWS. According to preliminary data, the fighter Su-30 of the Russian Air Force, that crashed in the Tver Region on September 22, was accidentally shot down by another aircraft during an exercise.
This was reported to TASS news agency on Wednesday by a source in the emergency services of the region. “Preliminarily, the cause of the incident is an accidental hit of a shell in the Su-30 during an exercise. The shot was fired by another aircraft,” journalists’ interlocutor said.
According to the Western Military District, on September 22, the plane crashed during a training flight, and the crew managed to eject. According to a TASS source, the condition of the pilots is satisfactory. There was no destruction on the ground.
Su-30 is a fighter of the generation 4++. It is designed to destroy air targets at different times of the day and in different meteorological conditions, as well as targets against the background of the earth, and other purposes.
