Russian Scientist Received a Severe Head Injury in the Pre-Trial Detention Center
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian scientist Alexander Kibalchenko, who participated in the development of the reusable «Buran» spacecraft, received a severe head injury in the pre-trial detention center. This is reported by «TASS» with reference to a source in medical circles.
It is specified, that the man has an open craniocerebral injury, a brain contusion and a fracture of the temporal bone. At the same time, the circumstances of the researcher's injury are not reported. The source claims, that Kibalchenko was injured in a psychiatric hospital of the pre-trial detention center. Therefore, he could not be delivered on May 4 to the Khoroshevsky Court of Moscow to participate in the meeting on the extension of the preventive measure.
The lawyer of the researcher, who is accused of murdering his son-in-law, asked to release Kibalchenko on bail of 10 million rubles ($133 thousand), but the court refused this. As a result, the term of arrest was extended until June 5.
The scientist himself claims that he was slandered. It was assumed that he ordered the murder of a relative because of a divorce from his daughter and a dispute over grandchildren.
