OREANDA-NEWS The press service of Russian Quality System reported that in early August 2019, the organization will present the first editions of the six national standards for environmentally friendly agricultural products of domestic brands. These standards will allow to separate the concepts of ecological and organic products. They will also save consumers from confusion. 

The plan was drafted as part of the fulfillment of Vladimir Putin’s instructions following the February 2019 message to the Federal Assembly. At the same time, the Ministry of Agriculture has already developed a draft federal law "On environmentally friendly products." It is planned that it will come into force on January 1, 2021. 

This law implies the creation of "Russian protected brands", which should be accessible and safe for consumers. The circulation of eco-products will be monitored by the Rosselkhoznadzor and Rospotrebnadzor. Producers will be added to the unified state register. They will be able to place on the packaging a special marking of a single sample. Such a measure is intended to ensure the traceability of goods at all stages of production.
