According to the agency, during the raid, the power engineers noticed an unfinished private house. He was illegally connected to the power grid. In addition, there was a noisy metal container on the site, which, as a rule, is a sign of the operation of mining equipment.

The police found 14 pieces of cryptocurrency mining equipment inside the box. The damage to the electric grid company amounted to about two million rubles. A case has been opened on the fact of the incident under part 2 of Article 165 ("Causing property damage by deception or abuse of trust") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

In March 2023, near Irkutsk, the police found a crypto farm equipped in a cowshed. The owner of the illegal installation turned out to be a tenant of a peasant farm in the Angara district of the Angara region.
