OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of Industry and Trade explained the lack of Tesla and Bugatti Veyron cars in the list of cars whose owners have to pay an increased transport tax. The position is stated in the response of the press service of the Ministry to the request of the Russian media.“The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, on the proposals of the Federal Tax Service of Russia, is ready to supplement the list with vehicles that aren't produced in Russia and aren't officially imported, but are imported by citizens on their own”, the report says.
The transport tax with a multiplying factor is valid for cars with a cost of more than 3 million rubles. Their list is published annually by the Federal Tax Service (FTS). Earlier, the auditors of the Accounts Chamber found that the department didn't include premium-class cars such as Tesla Motors Model S, Mercedes Benz S63 AMG 4MATIC Limousine L and Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport.
As explained in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the list for increased transport tax is formed on the basis of data sent to the agency by automakers or their authorized representatives. In addition, according to the ministry’s response, Mercedes-AMGS 63 4MATIC vehicles are in the list for 342 positions. In a document published on the FTS website, this position contains the “Mercedes-AMG S 63 4MATIC Sedan”, a separate reference to the Mercedes S63 AMG Limousine L, the absence of which was indicated by the auditors of the Accounts Chamber, isn't listed.
The boost factor for vehicle tax depends on the cost and year of manufacture of the car. So, for cars with a cost of 3 million to 5 million rubles, from the year of issue of which no more than three years have passed, it's equal to 1.1. For cars with a cost from 5 million to 10 million rubles, from the year of production of which no more than five years have passed, the raising factor will be 2. For cars with a price from 10 million to 15 million rubles, from the year of production of which not more than ten years have passed, increasing the coefficient is 3.
