OREANDA-NEWS  Russian Marines seized samples of Western equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kursk region. This was reported by TASS with reference to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

It is noted that at first the Russian military captures the AFU equipment, after which they use it in combat operations. The Ukrainian army mainly uses Western weapons, the defense ministry stressed.

"The Marines showed, among other things, an American automatic machine-gun with a belt-powered MK-19, a smoothbore semi—automatic 12-gauge Akdal MKA 1919 magazine rifle, a Turkish-made RDS-40 multi-shot grenade launcher, as well as a double-barreled shotgun from the Italian weapons company Fabarm," the Defense Ministry said.

Earlier it was reported that Russian paratroopers prevented an attempt to break through the Armed Forces of Ukraine deep into the Kursk region. Servicemen from the North group of forces struck Ukrainian fighters along with equipment, disabling and destroying two tanks and four Kozak armored fighting vehicles.
