OREANDA-NEWS Russia's GDP grew by 4.6% in the first half of the year, President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting on economic issues.

"According to estimates, the gross domestic product increased by 4.6% in the first half of the year," he said.
The Head of State stressed that the Russian economy, as well as last year, continues to grow at a good pace.

Thus, unemployment in the country remains at a record low level, in June it amounted to 2.4%.

He noted that the Russian authorities rely on the economic situation when implementing plans for the development of the country, since it is the industrial, trade, logistics, and financial potential that determines the resource and budgetary capabilities of the state.

Putin also called it very important that the rapid development of the financial sector does not lead to negative consequences in the economy.
