OREANDA-NEWS  The Sarmat-3 armored vehicles, which are used by the Airborne Troops of Russia, are distinguished by good cross-country capability. The fighters positively assessed the car, military commander Dmitry Kulko said on Telegram.

"In the Kursk region, paratroopers of one of the airborne units are driving Sarmatians. The reviews are normal," the message says.

Kulko noted that the car is characterized by good mobility and cross-country ability in muddy fields. On hard surfaces, the Sarmat can reach speeds of up to 150 kilometers per hour. There is a place on the roof of the car to install a large-caliber machine gun, but the fighters cover the upper hemisphere of the Sarmatians with mangalas to protect them from drones.

The four-seat LSTS-1944 Sarmat-3 weighs 3.5 tons, so the car can be transported inside the Mi-8 helicopter. The armored car received a diesel engine with a capacity of 150 horsepower.

In September, an armored vehicle K-4386 Typhoon airborne with additional protection was spotted in the special operation area. A lattice screen covered the roof of the combat module and the windshield.
