OREANDA-NEWS. Russian fighters Su-27 of the Black Sea Fleet naval aviation took to the air to intercept the reconnaissance aircraft of the US Air Force.

This was reported by the information department of the press service of the Southern Military District of Russia. According to its message, the air defense units “on time discovered the actions of the reconnaissance aircraft of the US Air Force over the Black Sea,” and it was escorted by Russian fighter jets. The latter “approached the air target and identified it as a reconnaissance aircraft RC-135W Rivet Joint of the US Air Force, after which it headed for removal from the state border of the Russian Federation. There was no violation of the state border,” the statement says. It is also noted that the flights of Russian military airplanes were carried out in accordance with international rules for the use of airspace.
