Russian Fighters Escorted US Air Force Plane over the Bering and Okhotsk Seas
OREANDA-NEWS. Russian fighter jets escorted the strategic bomber B-1B Lancer of the US Air Force over the Bering and Okhotsk seas. This was reported by the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation on September 15.
It is specified that the fighters MiG-31 of the Pacific Fleet naval aviation and the Su-35 of the Eastern Military District took off into the air. “The crews of Russian fighters have identified the aerial target as the US Air Force strategic bomber B-1B Lancer. After escorting the foreign aircraft, the Russian fighters safely returned to the home airfield,” the Center’s statement says.
On September 14, the Center informed about the interception of three American strategic bombers B-52 in the skies over the Black Sea. American airplanes were approaching the state border of the Russian Federation from Ukraine. Two Russian Su-27s and two Su-30s flew to intercept them.
