OREANDA-NEWS. Russian fighter jet Su-27 intercepted two US aircrafts near the Russian border over the Black Sea.

This was reported at the National Defense Management Center of the Russian Federation on August 14. According to the military, two American reconnaissance aircrafts were detected by Russian airspace control system over the neutral waters of the Black Sea. “For identification of targets, fighter Su-27 from the air defense forces of the Southern Military District was raised in the air. The crew of the Russian fighter… approached the air objects to a safe distance and identified them as strategic reconnaissance aircraft RC-135 of the US Air Force and patrol aircraft P-8A Poseidon of the US Navy,” the statement says.
