OREANDA-NEWS The Russian corvette "Savvy" and the Chinese destroyer "Jiau Zou" conducted a joint exercise in the Gulf of Finland with practice firing from artillery installations, the press service of the Baltic Fleet reported.

"A joint Russian-Chinese Passex type exercise took place at the naval training ground of the Leningrad Naval Base of the Baltic Fleet in the waters of the Gulf of Finland," the press release said.

The crews, using radio equipment, discovered the "minefields" installed by the conditional enemy and destroyed them with fire from artillery installations. Russian and Chinese sailors have worked out measures to organize search and rescue operations and provide assistance to a simulated surface ship that was damaged during the battle, Baltflot reported.

"The crews, following parallel courses, trained synchronizing the speed of travel and holding the interval, taking into account the displacement of ships and wind speed. As part of the exercise, the ships of the two powers completed the tasks of transferring liquid and dry cargo on the move," the press service informs.

The Chinese Navy destroyer Jiao Zuo participated in the main naval parade, which took place in St. Petersburg on July 28.

On July 25, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that Russian and Chinese strategic bombers conducted a 5-hour joint air patrol over the Chukchi, Bering Seas and the North Pacific Ocean.

In July, Russian and Chinese ships conducted joint patrols in the Asia-Pacific region. On July 13, the Russian Defense Ministry, in particular, reported that during a joint patrol in the Philippine Sea, Russian and Chinese ships conducted exercises with practical artillery and simulated missile firing.

On July 15-17, the ships of Russia and China held a joint exercise "Maritime Cooperation-2024". The maneuvers involved the Russian corvettes "Loud" and "Sharp" that arrived at the port of Zhanjiang, the Chinese destroyer ships "Yinchuan", the frigates "Dali" and "Hengshui", the universal supply transport "Weishanhu".
