OREANDA-NEWS. Russia will offer the BRICS member countries (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) a number of initiatives to combat the consequences of the pandemic, including in the socio-economic sphere. This was announced on Tuesday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, opening an informal meeting of the BRICS Council of Foreign Ministers in a video conference format.

“We will bring to your attention several Russian initiatives that are aimed at making us more responsive to the challenges that are provoked by the outbreak of coronavirus infection. This is not only about safety and health, but also about the socio-economic and financial spheres, about labor markets , the welfare of the population, the tasks of sustainable development", he said.
