Russia Sent More than 100 Servicemen to Nagorno-Karabakh for Mine Clearance
OREANDA-NEWS. The Russian Ministry of Defense delivered more than 100 servicemen of the International Mine Action Center of the Armed Forces to Yerevan. They will clear the terrain, roads and objects in the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“Personnel and equipment as part of military convoys will march along the route Yerevan–Goris–Stepanakert; upon arrival at the destination, they will begin to perform tasks on engineering reconnaissance, demining the terrain, roads and objects, destroying explosive objects in the regions of Nagorno-Karabakh, which were most affected by the time of the conflict, using the calculations of the mine-search service and robotic complexes,” the Defense Ministry’s statement says.
Servicemen were transported on airplanes An-124, Il-76 and Tu-154. 13 units of military equipment were delivered to Yerevan.
